Clara's Two Month Pictures



Our sweet Clara is two months old today! We haven't gotten her stats yet, but I'll add them after her well baby checkup. Here are some things we DO know about her...

• This kid is all visual. She loves to be held so she can see over your shoulder.
• We're pretty sure her eyes are going to be blue :D
• She must really love Bryce because she never cries when he sits on her or pushes her swing
• She still fits in newborn size clothes!
• She likes to make us work before she gives us her sweet smile or a little coo
• She sleeps through the night! Last bottle is at ten or eleven and then she wakes up between six and seven. Hallelujah!
• She insists on being swaddled for sleep - I think that's partly because her poor bowels are almost constantly sluggish. We'll be starting an apple juice supplement to try to help her regulate.
• She can hold her head up for a couple minutes, even though she's pretty wobbly still
• She's got all of us wrapped around her beautiful little fingers!

She was a little bit wary of Bryce's exuberant attempts to see the camera, haha!

Derek is a Sunbeam!

I can't believe Derek is already a Sunbeam! Sunbeam is the name of the first class in the Primary program at church. Primary age kids range from 3 to 11 years old and are divided into different classes based on age. Sunbeams are 3-5 years old. Derek's Sunbeam teacher, Sis. Brown, brought a cute sunshine balloon to the house earlier this month to say hi and welcome him into her class. Derek loved pulling the balloon all over the house and showing it to everyone who came over. In fact, he loved it so much, it finally gave out. He had a great first day in Sunbeams and I'm so proud of him! He didn't have a single problem and Sis. Brown gave a glowing report. He loved singing time in Primary, too. He learned "Do As I'm Doing," (a follow-the-leader Primary song) almost immediately and asked to sing it for bedtime tonight. I'm glad he's enjoying the transition and I hope it continues to be a positive experience for him every Sunday.

The Sickies

I know they don't look so good, but this is the upswing. First Mitchell got bacterial bronchitis and Colton got strep over Christmas break and then the boys were diagnosed with the flu last Friday. Poor Bryce had an ear infection and the beginnings of pneumonia on top of that. Thank heaven for modern medicine!

 

Poor Bryce. The nebulizer and bronchodilator medication helped combat his congestion and cuddling with Daddy made it all better.  

 

 Derek wasn't too thrilled with the mask, but he was a real trooper!

 

Clara loves cuddling with Grandma. Thankfully, she didn't catch anything. So glad I got my pertussis booster and flu shot while I was pregnant with her. Studies show she could have some immunity for up to six months. So very, very grateful for modern medicine!
