Fun at Kroger

Bryce, Clara and I had to make a quick stop at Kroger to get some supplies to make Mango Sprite for a party later (mango nectar, lemon-lime soda and pineapple/passion fruit soda, in equal parts). As we were walking in, a nice lady offered us the coolest cart Bryce has ever seen. He almost got into the seat by himself, he scrambled up so quickly! Clara was equally entertained and it was one of the easiest quick-stops I've ever made with kids in tow. The kids noticed the mechanical horse ride while we were in the checkout line and I asked the cashier to make change for a dollar so the kids could ride. She laughed and said the ride only cost a penny! Awesome!! Now we have a tradition of riding the horse every time we go to Kroger. :)

They're ready to drive through Kroger

"Beep beep! Vroom vroom!"

"Wait, what is THAT?!?!"

Hi-ho Silver!

This is her happy face

I, Bryce, take you to be my faithful steed ;)

Pure joy

Derek's Field Day

Derek had his first Field Day at school today! For a kid who loves being active, this was probably his favorite part of the school year. It was supposed to rain today, so I was a little if-y about going to watch with Bryce and Clara, but I'm glad we went. We were only able to stay for a couple events before I needed to leave to get ready for a friend's birthday party later today, but it was so fun to cheer for Derek and watch him compete!

Silly faces!

It's going to be a great day. :)

He was so excited to see us!

These are two sweet little spectators!

"I'm open, I'm open!"

He was hopping and skipping to his heart's content

Get in there, bud!

Derek is a born leader. He likes to direct his team mates. :)

Having fun while he waits in line

Ready... set ...

... GO!

Rounding the cones

Sneaking a peek at the competition as they charge down the homestretch

Tie!

Running is his favorite. :)

We love our silly, sweet Derek!

Sitting "criss-cross applesauce" while he waits to play "Air Raid"

Clara and Bryce were captivated

The kids waited patiently while the coaches finished setting up the game in the background

Derek had dropped his hat so Bryce ran it out to him. He thought it was important for Derek to have his hat on.

Dashing back to the sidelines

Haha! It's kind of creepy to have a pair of eyes staring from the back of his head, lol.

Protecting his base from his neighbors bomb (ball) attacks

Rolling a ball. Good form!

He's ready... but not guarding the back! Another kid took him out from behind a few seconds later.

Clara stood quietly watching the kids play

Sweet siblings!

So much excitement!

My three babies!

A local dermatologist rented/sponsored a shaved ice truck for all the kids.

Day made!

He only took a few bites and his tongue was already smurfed!
