Week with Liz - Part 2

Part deux - a really really R.E.A.L.L.Y long post...

Liz wanted to decorate her own cake, since she was here for her birthday (exactly one month before mine!) so Tammy let us come down to the shop one day. We spent three hours trying to make big purple hibiscus flowers with orange basketballs fit onto the cake. Boy did we succeed. That cake couldn't scream Liz any louder, I think. :)

My purple hibiscus kind of turned out more like purple star-nosed moles. :) I suppose that's my own personal touch, haha!

Yay for creativity!

You can totally tell those are basketballs - totally screams Liz, don't you think? :)

Thanks for letting me help you decorate, Liz!

Oh yeah, we're hot.

Liz finally gets to blow out her candles! I swear we must have repeated this at least 5 times because of those silly candles! :)

Isaac sings "Happy Birthday!"

Playing on bean bags

Cousin Wrestling!

Even Andrew got into the light sabers

Mitch chose Isaac as his Padawan learner

Derek is victorious and Isaac "dies"

Toddlers + Light Sabers = Fear for Life

We are mothers, see us improvise!

Derek and Isaac Playing (Cute Faces!)

Poor Isaac. His face says it all... Can someone get this guy OFF me so I can go home?!

Andrew had his feet flat on the floor when I grabbed for my camera. Such a funny little guy with his feet clapping!

We took the boys to play frisbee golf. I think they caught the gist of it.

Derek was obsessed. He'd pick up any disc lying on the ground and run it to the basket.

Aw... Ganka and Derek

Loves for Ganka

Look Mom! I found a stick!

Going down the slide at the park

We found this pretty cool swing thingy that totally had us mystified. A young boy hopped on to show us how to sit on the black seat and spin yourself around. That kid made it look so stinkin easy! We all tried it, but I like Jeff's solution best.

I think they liked each other, don't you?

Isaac was obsessed with Derek's dinosaur collection: especially this big one from Uncle Dwight and Aunt Kelly. Isaac, what does the dinosaur say? raaaah *really softly*

Aw, cute!

Week with Liz - Part 1

After Lanae went back home, Liz stayed with her boys for another week longer. Derek was thrilled to have someone to play with (and so was I!!). Liz and I let the boys play outside a lot. Thanks to Grandma and Grandpa, the boys had a pool, a mini-table and plastic slide to play with. We forgot Uncle Mitch had put the slide in the pool... and the pool was still full.... and the boys had just barely gotten clean fresh diapers...

... and of course they go straight for the pool

This is what happens when you have a clean fresh diaper that is submerged in water for 5 minutes.

This is what happens when the diaper explodes and the baby still wants to play in the pool

Isaac didn't want to be left out, so Liz took his diaper off, too

He didn't think it was as cool as Derek did

Isaac made his car take a pass at Devil's Crack.

No amount of coaxing would get Isaac onto the slide after the first attempt. He only wanted Mommy.

Derek went down that slide a lot faster sans-diaper... sans-anything, really

I love his expression! So excited!! And going so fast he almost fell off the slide!

Conveniently placed splash

His little baby bum is so cute!

Isaac was scared after going down the first time

Liz helped (made) him end the day on a good note. Way to go Liz! And way to go Isaac!

Derek sharing his love of movies with Isaac... ahhh... silence

I loved doing this with my baby sister. They were a little wobbly but we had a lot of fun!

When one boy has something, the other has to have one, too.

They sure don't look like babies here!

Aww.... my little baby is growing up so fast!!

Poor Andrew only fit grandpa's hat. :) Sure is cute though!!

Gangsta Girls!! Ow OW!!

Riding off into the sunset

Isaac hated these on sight back at Christmas. He warmed up to them after a while though...as long as they didn't make any sudden movements. That's kind of difficult when Derek is obsessed with squeezing the buttons in their ears and making them whinny, flick their tails and move their heads up and down.
